We booked this wedding over a year in advance and looked forward to it every day after! Lila and Elliott are such a relaxed and wholehearted couple that when we met them over Skype we instantly felt comfortable and couldn't wait to meet in person. Neither one of us had ever been to Nashville and we were really excited for the trip.
When we arrived we were first struck by the unbelievable humidity, then by the intense green of our surroundings (seriously neon), and finally shocked by a very sudden and forceful downpour! The skies were gorgeous and darkened by big thunderclouds. Even during the rehearsal the entire wedding party had to run inside during another sudden downpour. We were thrilled and excited by their grandmother's gorgeous home - where the wedding would take place - with a sprawling lawn in front and a lake in the backyard.
The wedding day was lovely. Though clouds threatened in the morning, they broke into sunshine just in time for the ceremony, no rain in sight. If their lifetime together will be anything like their ceremony, then it will be full of heartfelt moments, tears and joy, and belly laughs. We had so much fun with these two at the house and around the neighborhood taking advantage of the amazing light and incredible surroundings. We ended up capturing some of our favorite portraits to date!
This being our first wedding in the South, we were overwhelmed by the hospitality and warmth of everyone we met. We absolutely loved the food and we were amazed by everyone on the dancefloor! Not only was it packed, but it seemed that everyone truly knew how to dance and celebrate the couple. It was an incredible sight and we had a blast photographing it!
This wedding was certainly one of our favorites this year. This couple, this day, and this location are why we shoot weddings...Lila and Elliott, thank you for inviting us to capture your beautiful wedding! You are such a wonderful couple and we are so happy for you! Congratulations!
