Why do you call yourselves Vitae?

We’re creative people, but we found it so difficult to name our business! We had a long list of contenders and ended up choosing Vitae because it encompassed so much more than just the wedding day. Vitae means “of life” in Latin and to us, your wedding day is just the beginning of the journey of your new life together. 

Do you like to travel?

Travel? Us? Yes!!! We absolutely love to travel. We are invigorated by exploring new places and meeting new people. Costs associated with travel vary by location. To request pricing information and find out how much travel would be for your area, please fill out our inquiry form found here.

Have you photographed a wedding at my venue?

If we haven’t, all the better! We are inspired by new places and always try to scout a new location before the wedding so we have a good idea for the layout and possible shoot locations.

Do you have Insurance?

Sure do! Usually this is something the venue is requesting, so let us know what documentation they need and we can send it to you.

What if it’s cloudy or rainy on my wedding day?

We find all kinds of weather beautiful! Sunny days are always nice, but foggy, rainy, and stormy days can make the most romantic atmospheres and some truly beautiful photos.  

Should we give you a shot list? 

We’ve been photographing weddings for six years so we feel pretty comfortable without a shot list. With our documentary approach, it also allows us to be reactive to the day's events. That said, we do request a shot list if you are scheduling time for family portraits. Having a list of names helps us make sure no one is left out and helps that part of the day run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. 

How long do I have to wait to get my photos?

We carefully curate the selection of your photos and process them one-by-one to be sure they are up to our high standards. We try our best to send a sneak peak of a small selection of photos within a few weeks of your wedding with the full take being delivered 8-12 weeks after your wedding date.

How many photos can we expect to receive from your coverage?

This varies quite a bit based on hours of coverage. For weddings, we deliver a minimum of 450 photos, though often it’s much more. 

Can I post photos to social media and/or blogs?

Of course! We would love for you to share your wedding photos! Please do credit Vitae Weddings when sharing and refrain from altering the photos in any way (that’s what you hired us to do for you!)

Can I have my digital files?

Of course! Included in every wedding collection we offer is a digital download of your hi-res files. We will send instructions for download when we deliver your photos.

Do you offer prints and albums?

We think the best way to enjoy your wedding photos is in some tangible way. Our preference is a storybook because we are storytellers and love the way a book will take you through the course of your wedding day and remind you of all the emotions felt. Our storybooks are handcrafted and beautifully made, printed with the finest archival material on photographic paper and covered with genuine Italian leathers, European linens, or Japanese fabrics. The substrate between the spreads is about 1 mm thick, providing for sturdy pages in a seamless layflat design. They make the perfect keepsake and family heirloom. We also offer high quality photographic prints directly ordered from your online gallery.

Let’s do this! How do we book our wedding date with you?

That’s great news! First step is to fill out the form on our Contact page. Your date will be confirmed on our calendar once we have a signed contract and a 25% non-refundable deposit.. The balance is due 30 days prior to your date. If travel fees are involved, these will be due at the time of booking so we can book our travel as soon as possible to take advantage of better rates. We can’t wait to witness and share the day with you!
